Rebuild MDE

Friends and Families of Memorial Drive Elementary,

 

After almost 75 years of serving our community, our beloved Memorial Drive Elementary is being rebuilt. The building is expected to be torn-down this winter with plans to move back in before August 2024.

 

Through our planning process with the district, participants from our community, school’s faculty and staff, parents, and HOA representatives participated in the Project Advisory Team (PAT) Meetings to ensure our new school will take us well into the future. The PAT worked with the district to develop guiding principles that represent the MDE community and incorporate ideas that helped shape our school while maintaining what makes our school unique. Our new school will have state-of-the-art features while maintaining the outdoor learning environments MDE families have come to expect and cherish. Our beloved trees will continue to be the setting around the school and inside our new courtyard.

 

We need your help to raise funds for the additional features that will help make our school unique, such as an outdoor learning pavilion, updated features to our playground and field areas, upgraded educational equipment within the school and much more.

 

Help us celebrate 75 years and continue our legacy by making a donation to our MDE School Rebuild campaign. Leave your “mark” on the Pony Trail and donate to our Legacy Circle. Donations can be made by check and online. Donations will be collected through the Spring Branch Education Foundation (SBEF) and will be designated for the MDE Rebuild Campaign. All donors will be recognized.

 

As we look toward our future and continuing the legacy of Memorial Drive Elementary, we want to acknowledge the unique learning opportunity MDE has provided to many students and families throughout the years. MDE has provided an intimate learning environment where teachers and staff know every child, know their stories and know their potential.
